A Cow Chasing Husky?...

Good Monday morning, everyone!

I hope you had a fantastic weekend.

Taylor and I had a great weekend, but busy like usual.

Friday night we went out to dinner with Becky, Taylor's older sister, and her two cute kids Mckrae and Kayson. After that, we went to a movie. (The 15:17 to Paris was what we saw, story line was cool, movie was not that great.)

Saturday morning, Taylor went and helped move cows for a friend and I stayed home to get some rest and clean, (yay, so fun), and prepare for some friends to come over for lunch.

That night we stayed in and just relaxed. But Taylor got a text later on saying we had cows out in a different pasture than they are supposed to be in Promontory.

Sunday morning we had to wake up and head out to put cows back where they needed to be. It was just me, Tay and our two dogs. Border Collie/Kelpie cross Jess and Siberian husky Echo.

We drove out around the cows and started pushing them back towards the gate. But we had some up in the sagebrush that we needed to get as well. So Taylor decided he would just walk up towards them with the dogs and see if he could get them going.

I drove the truck and kept the herd going.

As I was driving and Taylor was walking with the dogs. I was kind of zoning out for minute until I looked up and saw Echo. She was actually herding the cows! It seriously was so funny to watch my husky herding cows better than Jess yesterday. Jess eventually remembered what she was supposed to be doing and we got the cows through the gate and back to the correct pasture.

We drove through the cows checking on water, mineral tubs and checking for babies. We have one on the ground already, he was born about two weeks ago a little early, and the rest of them should be coming in the next couple weeks.

We got out to the last mineral tub and noticed we had one cow on the other side of the fence. So we had to go and put her back in as well. Taylor stepped out of the truck to try and push her from behind and I had to drive the truck and make sure she didn't blow past the gate. We got her back in and then got to head back home.

After Promontory, we got home and finished getting ready for the day. Then we hopped in the car and were on our way to Franklin to go to church and spend the day with family.

All in all it was a great weekend. Nothing too exciting happened, but it doesn't usually stay that way long around the Nicholas house. ;)

Have a good week!

With Love,

Abbie
